Closed to the public on Sundays, The Turrill Sculpture Garden forms a perfect backdrop for Plein AIr life drawing. This will be the fourth year of running life drawing in this Summertown haven of peace and tranquility, and we're delighted to welcome back Isabelle as our model.  She posed for us in Stanton St John in March, and her strong dynamic poses were a huge hit with the artists who joined us. 
For this session, she will use the space of the garden to flow in an elegant fusion of short dance-inspired poses, before moving into longer ones, ending with a single long pose.

The usual easels, boards, paper, refreshments and music will be provided, but please note, there are no toilet facilities in the garden, although there is a public toilet approx 3 mins walk away in South Parade. There are public car parks  nearby and on-street parking can also be found if you look hard enough!

We take you through an artistic process that helps to take your life drawings to a new level 

Sessions start at 11 am and run until 1 pm.  All materials are supplied

Wonderfully wise tutoring by Mike who really understands live-drawing, this group has a great atmosphere with input from other students as well as first class model and lovely light in a welcoming room.

I'm new to charcoals and life drawing, but wanted to take on the challenge of faces, limbs, hands and feet.  My first session was brilliant.  The first hour was spent on exercises, eg lighting sketches, then drawing with your non dominant hand, then drawing without letting the charcoal leave the paper.  Then the second hour was spent on a long portrait.  Paper and materials are all provided.  If free on a Saturday this will be my go to place.
